SZYMON HANCZAR (DSc, Associate Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts) is a designer and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, where he serves as Head of the Furniture Department. A pioneer of minimal living spaces, he is the creator of his own 13-square-meter apartment. In his design practice, he places strong emphasis on process, the analysis of needs, and user experience. His design language is based on simple, restrained solutions, often rooted in a consistent discipline of form and color, as well as meticulously developed detail.
He is the founder and lead designer of hanczar studio, which operates in the fields of interior design, product design, exhibition stand design, and artistic installations. Projects developed by the studio have received numerous awards, including Must Have, the LIT Lighting Design Awards, and Dobry Wzór. He is also the recipient of the Best Polish Designer title in the Dobry Design 2025 competition.
