The jury of the RenOvation 2026 competition will select the best energy retrofit projects
We invite you to participate in the 3rd edition of the competition for the best energy retrofits of buildings – RenOvation 2026. This year's edition of the competition is held under the patronage of: The Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Poland, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark, Renovate Europe Campaign and RenoCEE.
“The competition is truly unique, as it achieves many goals at once. It demonstrates that it can be bone; it promotes the best, most interesting and comprehensive retrofit projects; it helps us notice them around us; it educates, debunks myths, honours ambitious investors, and inspires others. Above all, it makes us aware of how much – in terms of energy, finance, economy, education, health and society – can be gained by improving the energy performance of the buildings in which we spend 90% of our lives,” says Jan Ruszkowski, Managing Director at Fala Renowacji [Wave of Renovation].
Awards for exemplary energy retrofits
Consisting of architects and experts in the field of building energy efficiency, the jury will select the best retrofit projects in the following four categories:
- Single-family residential building
- Multi–family residential building
- Civic building
- Commercial building
Additionally, one project from all of the above categories will receive the Audience Award.
A novelty in this year's edition of the competition, the jury will distinguish a historical building under historic preservation, since energy retrofitting such properties involves additional challenges.
The announcement of the winners and the presentation of awards has been scheduled for January 22nd, 2026, during 4 Design Days in Katowice.
The competition is organized by the PTWP Group and Fala Renowacji.
