Marcin Waloryszak

main architect, founding partner

MAKAA

Marcin Waloryszak, architect and co-founder of the MAKAA studio, consistently raises the standards of contemporary architecture in Poland through his work. He graduated with honours in Architecture from the Łódź University of Technology, and also studied at the Tampere University of Technology (TUT) and the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). His design approach balances a focus on detail with bold strategic thinking, combining stoic restraint with an analytical view of the investment process.

His portfolio includes projects ranging from large-scale, mixed-use developments to unique, single-family homes. Notable projects include Poland's first architectural concrete house and a hotel using CLT technology. He gained experience in leading architectural firms and working with leading developers.

He co-founded MAKAA, a boutique architectural studio that combines design, business, and technological thinking, and continues to develop it. Having been honoured with the Real Estate Impactor award by Rzeczpospolita, he is pursuing his mission of creating high-quality architecture, focusing on courage and intuition as catalysts for change that goes beyond standards.

He has co-created exhibitions for the Łódź Design Festival and has been a member of the SARP Łódź Management Board and a reviewer for Architektura Murator.

He views architecture as a process involving careful decision-making to organise the multi-layered complexity of a project and transform it into a clear, responsible outcome.
