Designer, Owner

Husarska Design Studio

Jadwiga Husarska-Sobina is a Polish industrial designer, visionary and Creative Director of Husarska® Design Studio, awarded Best Polish Designer / Designer of the Year 2024 in the Dobry Design competition at 4 Design Days. She has authored over 200 market-implemented projects – from medical devices and electronics to office and home furniture and innovative sustainable materials. She has worked for brands such as Paged, IKEA, Nowy Styl, Sunswiss and Rolan Bathrooms, helping them move from a product-centric mindset to a user- and planet-oriented approach.

She studied furniture design in Finland, where she learned the “logic of plywood” and absorbed a deep respect for nature – values characteristic of Nordic design that she now translates into products created for international brands.

Husarska-Sobina is the author of the ReHemptation furniture collection, made from materials such as Strumber® – an alternative to wood produced from annual plants (including hemp and flax straw). ReHemptation shows how a new generation of materials can shape user behaviour, encourage interaction and create more open, welcoming spaces at home, in the office and in HoReCa environments.

As co-creator of Strumber® – an ecological wood alternative based on annual plants and presented at Milan Design Week, Dutch Design Week and World Expo Osaka – she actively contributes to the development of bio-based and circular materials. Her projects help manufacturers genuinely reduce environmental impact and build competitive advantage through responsible innovation.

Her work has received numerous awards, including Red Dot Design Award (x5), New York Design Award, Good Design (USA and Japan), Dobry Wzór, the title of finalist of the Seoul Design Award (2024), as well as nominations for the Green Product Award and Isola Design Award. For her contribution to sustainable development she has been honoured by UNDP with the title “Angel of the Social Economy.”

As a mentor and juror she supports young designers and R&D teams, showing how to combine innovation, responsibility and business performance. For her, design is not just an aesthetic layer of a product, but a strategic tool for transforming entire industries – from medtech and office spaces to HoReCa and new materials.
