The Future? Between education, competitions, and professional practice.
Thematic scope
A panel accompanying the exhibition "Przyszłość? / Future?" (organized by the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology) will be devoted to the relationship between architectural education, competitions, and professional practice. The discussion will provide an opportunity to consider whether theses are a testing ground for ideas, attitudes, and tools, and whether and how they can transcend the framework of academic exercise and become a catalyst for responsible design practices, research, and critical thinking in the face of contemporary environmental and social challenges. We will discuss the ambitions and realities of contemporary design, as well as the role of education, research, and competitions. This is a conversation about architecture as a process—constantly negotiated between idea, responsibility, and practice.
