Thematic scope
The cities of today are presented with a number of challenges and opportunities – from the pressure in terms of available land, through transport and mobility, to standard of living and the revitalization of urban space The speakers invited to the debate will address 10 critical issues that impact the future of Polish cities. They will take turns in answering 10 short questions. Each of them will have time to address the previos speaker and say a few words of summary:
- Land: How to unlock land for investment?
- Procedures: Permissions, agreements, decisions – is it possible to build faster?
- Financing: Can cities and investors cooperate in obtaining capital and EU funding?
- Transport and infrastructure: Who should pay for roads, communication, and connections – and on what terms?
- Revitalization: How to jointly transform degraded premises into modern districts?
- Quality of life: How to pursue projects without disturbing the neighbours?
- Sustainable development and climate: ESG, retention, energy – do developers and local government have the same goal?
- Housing: Cities want more affordable houses, while developers want more profitable projects. Is there a middle ground between social mission and market reality?
- Urban planning: How to establish spatial order without hampering growth? New legislation and investment reality.
- Identity and aesthetics: Should the city dictate the architecture and standard of public space?
