The green transformation of construction in Poland – an accompanying event of 4 Design Days 2025
The upcoming edition of 4 Design Days will be a grand arena for talks surrounding sustainable construction. In the “Green transformation of construction in Poland” series of discussions, talks and presentations you will find out everything about creating sustainable building projects, eco-friendly construction materials, energy sources, financing or the latest technology, that enables carbon-neutral construction.
Appearances from remarkable experts with a “green passport”: architects, designers, producers, developers, scientists, creators of technology and materials.
Subjects to be discussed:
Politics and regulations – support for sustainable construction. Sustainable Construction Talks by Saint-Gobain
What regulations and policies on the domestic and international levels support green construction development? The schedule of decarbonisation. How can we achieve zero-emission? The best practices for designing carbon-neutral buildings. Green financing in the construction industry – for whom, by whom? “Green” loans, obligations, donations, tax reliefs – rules, conditions. Polish tenders lagging behind in Europe – it's time to promote eco-solutions.
Energy, water, air. It is high time consumption and pollution were limited.
What solutions and technologies could be effective in reducing energy and water consumption and pollution emissions in construction processes, while at the same time maintaining the cost-effectiveness of economic investments?
Construction waste: minimization, recycling and the future of the circular economy
The issue of construction waste is one of the biggest challenges of ecology. What methods of minimization of waste and innovative recycling techniques can help the industry become more sustainable?
Construction sites free of fossil fuels
The challenges of the construction industry during implementation of solutions based on renewable energy sources. How can the construction process be decarbonized: technologies and innovations, materials, transport and logistics, energy storage.
Wooden architecture
Developers and architects start a new chapter in the history of Polish commercial construction and place importance on wooden structures. This is an answer to the rising demand for eco-friendly and cozy work and living spaces. Will there be more such buildings in Poland? Benefits of wooden architecture. Challenges. Examples.
The norms surrounding building energy effectiveness
A legal obligation and a key step in the direction of sustainable city and building development. The most important norms and guidelines surrounding building energy effectiveness. The schedule of decarbonisation.
Materials for construction: costs, availability and ecology.
Materials for construction require green doping. Latest innovations, both cost-effective and eco-friendly.
Digitalization and automation
Innovations for sustainable construction development. How can digital technology, IoT and automation of construction processes reduce the ecological footprint of construction?
Infrastructural projects
Infrastructure projects. How to build low-carbon bridges, tunnels and roads? How advanced is the green transformation of infrastructural projects in Poland? Starting with a project, through construction, to exploitation and potential demolition. A sustainable model of infrastructure development – what is the biggest challenge? Investments improve the quality of life of residents, at the same time supporting sustainable development.
A Sustainable Construction Expert Forum Meeting
4 Design Days 2025 will see the 4th meeting of the Forum of Experts in Sustainable Construction. The Forum consists of more than 30 people – CEOs of developers and general contractors, manufacturers of construction materials and technology, as well as architects.
The last meeting, which took place during Property Forum 2024, was attended by Krzysztof Bolesta from the Ministry of Climate and Environment, Ignacy Niemczycki from the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and Dorota Zawadzka-Stępniak, the chairwoman of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
Members of the Forum created a list of key recommendations, which will accelerate the green revolution of the construction industry in Poland. Government representatives and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management declared their desire for cooperation and continuing talks.
We invite you to participate in the event!
