An exhibition promoting the 1st edition of ART COLLECT, a contemporary art fair, at the International Congress Centre in Katowice, 28 February–1 March 2026
Free admission / artcollect.com.pl / IG @mck.art.fair

ART COLLECT is a new collectors’ contemporary art fair in Silesia, held at the International Congress Centre, which we transform into a space for meetings, inspiration, and the exchange of ideas—where the latest phenomena in contemporary art intertwine with a passion for collecting. Within a carefully selected group of artists and galleries, original artistic visions, current trends, and works defining the contemporary language of art will be presented.

Objectives of the ART COLLECT fair:

  • development of the collectors’ market in southern Poland
  • promotion and popularization of contemporary art
  • education in collecting and building art collections
  • creating networks of cooperation between art and business

The exhibition presents works by two artists participating in ART COLLECT: Michał Cygan and Karol Wycisk from Galeria Dystans.

Michał Cygan
Michał Cygan’s work is situated at the intersection of realism and symbolism, where precise detail meets emotional narrative and social engagement. His paintings address social and political themes, often referring to power relations, the condition of the individual, and the presence of animals as sensitive yet meaningful symbolic figures. It is attentive painting in which tenderness toward the depicted motifs goes hand in hand with a critical view of reality.

Karol Wycisk
Karol Wycisk perceives contemporary sculpture as an open form of artistic expression that goes beyond traditional materials and definitions. It may be created from sound, light, everyday objects, or human presence, and address emotional, social, and existential themes. For the artist, it is crucial that sculpture acts—that it evokes emotions, does not allow the viewer to pass by indifferently, and leaves them with their own interpretation.
