Founder, Innovation for All AS, President of EIDD – Design for All Europe in 2017-2021

 

Biography Onny Eikhaug

 

Onny Eikhaug was the President of EIDD Design for All Europe for two periods  2017 - 2021 and is now member of the Executive Board. She is founder of Innovation for All AS. She was for more than 13 years Programme Leader Design for All at the Norwegian Design Council (now Design and Architecture Norway), responsible for promoting the Centre's activities in the fields of people centred, inclusive design as a strategy for innovation and Programme Leader for the government funded Innovation for All programme promoting inclusive, people-centred design as a practice and an effective tool for innovation.

She writes, publishes, lectures, facilitate workshops and curates exhibitions both in Norway and internationally, and works closely with designers, education, industry, research and government. She coordinates people-centred inclusive design projects with business and public sector applying new tools and methods for user research and involvement. She is responsible for the books Innovating with People - The Business of Inclusive Design and Innovating with People - Inclusive Design and Architecture as editor-in-chief and author.

 

She has a broad executive experience in international marketing, sales, innovation, product development and design management. She was in 2015 appointed Inclusive Design Champion by an international jury at Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design, Royal College of Art, London at the Include conference. In 2019 she was appointed Council member of the International Association for Universal Design, IAUD, Japan and from May 2021 she is the Chair for the Selection Committee of the IAUD International Design Award.
