An exhibition of Andrzej Trybulski's posters from Tadeusz Barucki's lectures

Andrzej Trybulski was the chair of the provincial branch of the Association of Polish Architects (SARP) in Tarnów in the 1980s. He initiated and organized regular open “Art Meetings,” which presented the achievements and trends of Polish and international architecture. Thus, the Meetings welcomed Poland’s leading architects. The most frequent guest was architect Tadeusz Barucki, who attended 14 events, combining them with the promotion of his subsequent books. Due to the circumstances in the communist Poland of the time (lack of printing possibilities, censorship, paper supply restrictions) Andrzej Trybulski made a unique poster by hand for each meeting using mixed techniques (graphics, drawing, collage).

The works presented at the exhibition are only a small part of the Author’s output in this area: the posters for the “Art Meetings” with Tadeusz Barucki. They have been presented during the Author’s exhibitions accompanying the International Biennale of Architecture in Kraków, at the French Institute in Kraków, in the castle in Dębno, and in the District Museum in Tarnów. They were last shown during the benefit gala held in Katowice (June 2022) to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Tadeusz Barucki’s birthday.

Andrzej Henryk Trybulski was born in 1945 in Tarnów. A graduate from the Faculty of Architecture of the Kraków University of Technology, he also studied painting and graphic design in the class of Professor Krystyna Wróblewska, and he received his degree under the supervision of Professor Włodzimierz Gruszczyński in the Division of Regional Design (1969). His professional output includes numerous achievements in architecture, urban planning and interior design. He also creates works in other fields of art: posters, graphic signs, graphic design of books and journals (including many underground publications in communist Poland), designs of medals and commemorative stamps, and scenarios of exhibitions.

His involvement includes education, social activism and, in the past, anti-communist opposition. He is a member of the SARP and of “TA” creative group. His works have been presented at collective and solo exhibitions.
He has been decorated with the Cross of Freedom and Solidarity (2016) and the Medal of the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence by Poland (2019).
