The competition is designed to showcase best practices in comprehensive refurbishment of various buildings. Apart from resulting in increased energy-efficiency, allowing to economize on energy, a well-executed refurbishment of a residential, commercial or public building improves its architecture and increases the comfort of the occupants, who can live, work and spend their free time in an aesthetically pleasant environment.
We invite investors, owners and managers of multi-family residential, commercial and public buildings, developers and private investors to submit buildings that have undergone thermal modernisation.
The Competition will evaluate projects that have been implemented in Poland and completed within the last five years, until the end of 2023.
Buildings for the RenOvation 2024 competition can be submitted in four categories:
- Multi-family residential buildings (e.g. apartment blocks, housing estates)
- Single-family residential buildings
- Public buildings (e.g. schools, kindergartens, offices, railway stations)
- Commercial buildings (e.g. office buildings, hotels, shopping centres)
The jury evaluates the projects that meet at least 3 of the below-listed criteria of a comprehensive refurbishment:
- A project involving the removal of an inefficient solid fuel heat source and the purchase and installation of an efficient heat source.
- Removal and purchase and installation of a new central heating or hot water system (including solar panels),
- Purchase and installation of a photovoltaic micro-installation.
- Purchase and installation of mechanical ventilation with heat recovery.
- Purchase and installation of building envelope insulation.
- Replacement of window joinery including windows/balcony doors, slope windows, external doors, garage doors.
In addition to energy efficiency, the jury will also evaluate aesthetic qualities, as well as improvements in user comfort and the quality of materials used. Equally important will be how innovative the implemented solutions are.
Entries can be submitted by 8 December, 2023. The Jury will select the winners from among the received entries.
In addition – based on voting on PTWP Group portals – the Audience Award will be granted.
The finals of the competition and the announcement of the winners will take place on 25 January at the International Congress Centre during a gala event accompanying 4 Design Days 2024.
The RenOvation 2024 competition is organized by the Fala Renowacji Association and PTWP Group, publisher of Propertynews.pl and Propertydesign.pl.
