Rob Reinders, Vice President of Design and Project Management, is a licensed Architect who currently leads Marriott International’s Global Design Europe team based in Frankfurt, Germany.
Marriott is the largest hotel company in the world with 30 Brands and 5700 hotels with 1.1M rooms in 110 countries, with ongoing plans for ambitious global growth.
Rob joined Marriott International in 1987 as a Project Designer, moving through several roles at Marriott headquarters in Washington, DC, USA, until beginning his current role in Europe in 2011. His customer-focused attitude and dedication to Marriott’s unique service culture help him create loyal business relationships. He is known for his ability to find creative design solutions to difficult site and building challenges. He aggressively promotes growth and brand equity – always seeking a mutually beneficial and sensible balance between owner interests and brand standards. In his career with Marriott he has overseen the successful completion of more than 1000 hotel projects.
He manages a team of design and project management professionals who work collaboratively with internal disciplines, owners, franchisees and their design consultants to manage a pipeline of franchised and Marriott managed new development and renovation projects. Project types include prototypes, custom design new-builds, adaptive-reuse and hotel conversions in the select service, extended-stay, full service and luxury brand segments.
Prior to Marriott, Rob worked for more than ten years with architectural firms specializing in full-service hotel design. Rob is a licensed Architect in the USA, supporting his knowledge and expertise with a passion for the industry. He is also affiliated with the American Institute of Architects. He is an undergraduate of Iowa State University and earned his Master’s degree in Architecture from Rice University in Houston, Texas.
